Mark Nine Systems is led by managing partners Sylvan Clebsch and Joe MacDougald. Sylvan is the founder of Mark Nine Systems and is the principle technical contributor responsible for system architecture, software design, and implementation. He was a Senior Software Engineer at Stanford University, where he worked on cryptography and security tools deployed at universities across the US, and was Software Engineer at Starfish Software (now owned by Motorola), where he wrote the embedded operating system for the REX handheld device. Online gamers may be familiar with Sylvan's previous entrepreneurial projects including the popular Roger Wilco voice-over-IP application. Joe is responsible for business operations, program management, and some supporting engineering tasks. He has been involved with software development for many years and has worked as a Senior Software Engineer for companies including Apple Computer and ON Technology (now part of Symantec.)
